I've wanted to do something for my husband for a while. So I ended up choosing a subject that I could also experiment with a colored background. Assassin's Creed is a video game that he plays. I thought the iconic symbol of the game would be a nice way to start. I found on pinterest an artist's rendition of the symbol outlining the main character. So I simplified the design so that I could color block everything. So if it's not clear, the big red symbol is surrounding a guy in a hood, from shoulders up.
I've learned a few things with this project, as a combination of trying new materials and styles. I wish that I had had an exacto knife to cut out the paper backgrounds, as the edges are not as smooth as they could be. I also used 3/8'' paper for the first time on this project as well as tacky glue. I like the weight and the size of this new brand of paper I'm using. It's much sturdier. The tacky glue is so much better than elmers but it does leave a shiny residue after it dries. I love experimenting with new things and it's nice when they work out.
